The Human Resource function is responsible for managing the workforce structure and employee lifecycle at the CRNA. The function offers a variety of services including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, and training opportunities. The function provides guidance and advice to leaders and employees on employee engagement, benefits, disability claims management, manpower budgets, performance management and the interpretation of human resource policies and procedures. 

The CRNA promotes a progressive workplace culture, leading with people, collaborative partnerships, and learning through relationships.   • Recruitment involves identifying and attracting skilled individuals who align with the CRNA's values. 
  • The onboarding process ensures that new employees are integrated into the college culture. 
  • The offboarding process ensures a respectful transition when an employee departs from the college. 

Other services include: 

  • Administration of employee records including personal information and documents necessary for the purpose of the employment relationship. 
  • Employee relations with employees and leaders where concerns and workplace conflicts can be addressed. This process prioritizes a collaborative solution to ensure a respectful work environment.  
  • Support to managers and employees. Human resources provides the guidance and interpretation of human resources operational policies and procedures, applicable legislation and best practices. 
  • Performance management is a process intended to be both a constructive and positive experience, for employees to understand how their performance aligns to their position functions, goals and objectives. The CRNA promotes that all employees have the opportunity to grow and develop to achieve their professional goals.  
  • Total compensation provides a formal structure that encompasses pay rates and a value of all benefits offered to employees, including group insurance benefits, paid leaves, protected leaves, general holidays, vacation, pension, self directed staff development fund, and overtime. The Position Evaluation Committee will evaluate all positions at the CRNA following the plan and the plan guidelines to develop a relative ranking of each position.
  • Payroll and benefit administration services provide timely and accurate payment of salaries and other benefits; including appropriate calculation of working hours, leave entitlements, statutory deductions and remittances, group insurance premiums and pension contributions as determined by CRNA policy, employment contracts, and applicable legislation.
  • Employee health benefits services provide guidance and support of services available through group insurance benefits, accessing medical leaves and disability claims management.
