Change management is a set of processes, tools, and principles to manage the people side of change. When this is accomplished, employees adopt the change and can effectively use the new technologies and tools. This provides a return on investment for the organization. Ineffective or nonexistent change management may result in lost investment, lost opportunity, and risks to the organization.
The CRNA has a structured approach to change management. This structure improves the effectiveness of change management and increases the likelihood of change success. In turn, this results in greater adoption, usage, and return on portfolio and project investments.
The CRNA adopts several techniques for successfully managing change. These include monthly change management meetings with people managers, competency-based training programs, and project level change management assistance. In addition, quarterly portfolio updates and monthly podcast videos are uploaded to PETE. To ensure the CRNA continues to make positives steps towards change readiness, an annual Change Management Maturity Assessment is completed.
At the CRNA, change management is divided into two areas: 1) project level change management and 2) enterprise change management.
Change management supports the CRNA to prepare for and implement change in their business operations. Change management involves aligning the organization’s people, culture, structure, and processes with the approved strategy. In essence, change management is the act of preparing the CRNA to pursue its corporate strategy.
